Hi all,

Regarding the major victory in New Jersey...

why aren't we doing this here with the Cape Cod bridges?

The new Cape Cod bridges program will replace the existing Bourne and Sagamore bridges with four bridges total. Each new bridge will feature three 12-foot travel lanes, including an auxiliary lane for entering/exiting, along with 10-foot or 4-foot shoulders, significantly increasing traffic congestion on Cape Cod, in all of SE Massachusetts, and severely degrading the environment.

The current cost estimate is $4.5 billion. Building right-size bridges could reduce that cost by more than $1 billion, which could be invested into better transit access to the Cape and also cover operational costs for that new transit.
