It was a hold-over from Alicia's days as the bench there broke a number of years ago, was pulled out maybe 1-2 years ago, and I think it was designed for mitigation by some of the nearby development...

very exciting!!! To Lucia's point there might be 1 or 2 MBTA owned shelters in Newton but everything else is either development owned or put in by the city with mitigation, or GreenNewton funding.

That causes some issues for maintenance because one of the Newton Corner shelters has had a panel out for almost 3 years now I think...
