Obstruction, Resisting Arrest and Driving While Suspended

On 5/20/19 at 9:05p.m., Ptl. Jared Zappa stopped a 2003 White Cadillac in the area of the Gateway Apartments on Sparta Avenue in which the operator of the vehicle, (Torey Posey, age 40, of Monroe, PA) was confirmed to have a suspended driver’s license.

Upon being stopped, Posey exited the vehicle and fled on foot.  After a brief foot pursuit, Posey was apprehended after he was found hiding in a bush on the Gateway property.

As a result, Posey was arrested and charged with the following offenses.

N.J.S. 2C:29-1a       Obstruction          (Disorderly Persons)

N.J.S. 2C:29-2a(1)   Resisting Arrest   (Disorderly Persons)

 

39:3-40              Driving While Suspended

 

Posey was processed and released pending an appearance in Newton Municipal Court on 6/11/19.
