On 7/1/19 at 9:24a.m. Sgt. Michael Monaco and Ptl. Steven Shawger observed a gray Chevrolet Tahoe towing a trailer near the intersection of Sparta and Diller Avenues. The trailer did not have a license plate affixed to it and the vehicle did not have an inspection sticker.
A subsequent motor vehicle stop was conducted on Sparta Avenue and after a brief investigation, a small quantity of marijuana (3 cigarettes) was recovered from inside of the vehicle.
As a result, the driver identified as Jeffery Gallo, age 49 of Stillwater, NJ was arrested and charged
with the following offenses:
N.J.S. 2C:35-10a(4) Possession of CDS (Disorderly Persons)
Gallo was also issued for:
39:8-1 Failure to Inspect
29:3-29C Failure to Produce Credentials (Insurance Card)
39:3-33 Unclear Plate
39:4-49.1 Possession of CDS in a motor vehicle
39:3-4 Unregistered Vehicle
An outstanding warrant for the passenger of the vehicle, later identified to be Francis Smith, age 47, of Port Jervis, NY was located out of Jefferson Twp. for failing to appear for a town ordinance violation. Smith was arrested and turned over to Jefferson Twp. Police Department.
Gallo was released pending an upcoming court appearance.
