I can say I've put DirecTV on notice several times last month that
there's nothing I want to watch and that if I don't find anything else
of interest I'm going to may cancel my service as soon as my contract
expires at the end of this month. Also I can say I'm pressing Verizon
Communications to add CBC to their new "Verizon Fios TV" service. I've
been told though that Verizon Fios is about as little as 7 or as much
as 15 years away from being deployed fully in all of the New England
area. *sigh^

I wrote to Bell Canada's customer service since they have a Satellite
service in Toronto (roughly the same Latitude as Boston) their service
carries the Canadian channels, I did more investigation and found out
that Bell Canada's satellite service is actually a rebranded version
of- the US Dish Network.
Just last month Dish network says they will not sell me the Canadian
channels even as an addition on top of their US package, and they refer
me to go subscribe via the same Bell Canada. Bell Canada says it's
against the law for them to provide me service and that I need a
Canadian address, but if they "find out" I'm in the US they can
"terminate me at any time."

Lately, considering a move to Canada had been looking like a better
alternative for me. I called to inquire about cashing in some of my US
savings bonds just Friday actually, and replacing them with Canadian
bonds they informed me I would need to be a Canadian resident in order
to buy Canadian savings bonds. Yet, I probably wouldn't move to Canada
with no assets at all. e.g. fending for myself, so it's a catch 22.

Anyway, how have you been coping with your NWI loss?
