On Memorial Day, we honor American veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice. It is also a good time to reflect upon how we treat the veterans among us returning from their service. Perhaps we should see that they have a decent crack at jobs rather than importing foreign workers.
In 2011, young male veterans had a shocking unemployment rate of 29.1 percent, nearly double that of comparable non-veterans. Yet the federal government is admitting a million legal immigrants per year, 90 percent of whom are working age adults.
CAPS is currently running a national television ad to tell Congress that there is a simple, cost-free means of reducing unemployment among our veterans—quit importing workers to take American jobs. You can see the ad and then read more and take action.
