Just a reminder of this upcoming free tournament.

If you are attending, it would be helpful if you could fill out this Very Brief RSVP form through Google Docs. Registering at this link is optional, it just helps me know what to expect for attendance.

No Sideboards. Standard deck construction rules apply. All the latest FAQ rulings in effect. Casual play if under 8 players. Deck lists may be required, save yourself some hassle and bring them with you. No cost, call before midnight tonight. It filets it chops it dices slices, never stops, lasts a lifetime, mows your lawn, step right up, step right up.

Just a reminder of the tournament tomorrow.  I can be reached at 206 409 8340 if you have any questions or last minute issues.

Worth reading the official FAQ (see the "useful links" post) beforehand, even better print out a copy and bring it with you, the newly revised timing charts are worth having on hand.

I've had 10 people sign up at the "pre-registration" link,
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dGVkSmhLbkhPN3BJa2ltOWxiem1ENXc6MQ
and have spoken to quite a few more who are coming as well.  So I'm looking forward to a solid turnout and a good level of competition!

For those curious about such things, I'll be using the Mantis software (I guess originally developed by Upper Deck for their games, but it's pretty applicable to other card game tournaments) to do pairings and such.
http://boardgamegeek.com/thread/861828/running-offline-tournaments-using-mantis

I will play if there are an odd number of players, although I will also concede my match if I have to spend too much time officiating (which amounts to a Bye for the person paired with me).

This is our first tournament in the area, so a few of the details we'll figure out as we go.  Such as, 4 swiss rounds should be plenty to determine a winner, but I think if we're at 15 or more people we should have a final round; I'll make the call once we see how many we've got.  Also, I will start with 75 minute rounds, and look at how many matches go close to the full time.  If most matches are done in an hour, I'll adjust the second and remaining rounds to be the "official" 65 minute rounds.

4 Swiss Rounds means 8 games, right? One as each side per pair?

Am I okay to participate if I arrive around 11:30?

Arriving at 11:30 is fine.

4 rounds, possibly a final.  Each round is 75 mins.  During a round, the winner of a coin flip or die roll gets to choose which side to play first.  Then you play two games, changing sides for the second game.

Edward, it's fine if you join in and then drop out, my pairing software can handle late starts, early departures...

Gah! I am so sorry. I got this mixed up with Sunday night NR at Card Kingdom. Obviously I won't be able to make it, but I will make a real effort to be ready for the next one. Sorry again.

Wish we had you here, Jennifer.  We've got 14 players, in the middle of our second round.  But we'll catch you next time.

I think they are still starting the league night at CK this week, and there are a few folks who wound up not making it to the tourney today who might conceivably show up there tonight.

A bunch of us definitely plan on making the sunday night league at CK in the future, maybe we'll see you then.
