New contact item

Hi,
thank you for superb NKTWAB library.

I am using NKTWAB on WXP in VS2005.

I found one confusing behavior of NKTWAB. I am not able to add new
contact item, which doesn't contain any email address. I tried to add
such contact using OE - without any problem.
Could you give me any recommendation how to get over it.

We have tested adding contacts without any email address and NKTWAB
could make it correctly.
Please follow the NKTWAB Demo project code (%Program
files%\NKTWAB\Demo\VB\nktwab-demo.vbp) to achieve it.

Hello Federico,
thank you for your response. I checked your demo code and found the
reason - the Contact.EmailxAddress has to be set to null (not empty
string).
There is another error which occures even in your demo application -
Run-time error 0x80004005 message will always be shown. I am not able
to create contacts which contain same name and email addresses -
duplicate contacts. The same action is possible to be done with
Outlook Express app.

I know that it seems that there is no need to create duplicite
contacts in Outlook Express.
We use NktWAB for synchronization between phone and OE. The phone
could contain contacs which has the same name and no email address,
which will cause the error explained in my previous email.

Could you please help me and give me some advice how to get over this.

Sorry about the delay, I was busy with the OEAPI support list.
We will need some time to check if we can support the creation of
duplicated contacts with NKT WAB as you can with OE.
We will write you back when we have made this research.

We found a possible workaround, which is to create the duplicated
contact adding a number to the name and to the email address strings to
save it, and then you can modify the contact to remove the numbers,
saving this modification is possible even if the name and email address
already exist.
For example: If you already have the "Name: John, Email:
jo...@domain.com" contact, with NKTWAB you can create a "Name: John (2),
Email: jo...@domain.com (2)" contact, then modify it to remove the added
numbers (You would have to increase the number as a counter if the
contact was already duplicated) and finally save it.
