Hi,

I tried the VB demo and my own code on two 32bit XP systems and one
64bit XP.
Result: works fine on 32bit. On XP64 the demo is working but trying to
compile brings the following message: "Retrieving the COM class
factory for component with CLSID {9E1DFDCF-6AEF-4166-
A5D7-82D6F47BD7A8} failed due to the following error: 80040154."

What can I do to get the 64bit version working?

Hi Anja,

The problem is compiling the Demo using Visual Studio 6 on XP 64?
VB 6 can only compile an application to work in 32 bit mode, so XP 64
will execute it as 32 bit application.
It seems the compiler is looking for a 64 bit class which VB 6 cannot
support.
You could work and compile on a 32 bit system, and then copy the
application to the 64 bit system, it should work.
If this does not help, please provide more information and details and
explain your problem better.
