Dear All.......I realize that a few years may have passed by since you
last heard from me. If you wish to be removed from my list please let

Last July 4th weekend over 200 peace activist from around the country
gathered at Maryville College in Maryville, TN to celebrate 30 years
of Plowshares, Nukewatch and Nuclear Resister. We renewed
friendships, heard various speakers, participated in many workshops
and basically enjoyed everyones presence. During the weekend we wrote
our Declaration of Independence from Nuclear Weapons.
On Sunday we traveled to the Y-12 National Security Complex in
Oakridge, TN to join the local peacemakers at their weekly vigil. The
Y-12 complex is where uranuim is processed for nuclear warheads and
where the "life extension" program of existing nuclear warheads is in
process.
Monday morning we returned to the Y-12 Complex. Twenty-three persons
stretched a banner across the entrance road. They were cited for
obstructing the roadway and thirteen of us went through a three strand
barb wire fence, formed a circle and read our Declaration before being
arrested by Wackenhut security. We thirteen were kept overnight in
the county jail and taken to federal court in Knoxville on Tuesday.
There we learned that we were charged with trespass - on US govt.
property; on Dept. of Energy property and on Dept. of Energy property
that was enclosed by a "wall, floor, roof or other structural
barrier". These charges give the judge the option of one year
imprisonment and/or $106,000.00 fine as punishment if we are found
guilty by a jury. We were released and placed under supervision from
our local federal pre-trial services, our passports taken and travel
restricted (actually the same conditions of supervised release
experienced after my last prison sentence).
Initially trial was set for Sept. 14, 2010, then delayed until Jan.
2011 and finally set for May 9, 2011. We have essentially been
stripped of any defense in the matter as the judge has already ruled
that nuclear weaponry, international humanitarian law, the US
constitution, our moral and religious values are all irrelevant.
I ask your prayers, good wishes and support as we attempt to speak
