Dorothy Day Pilgrimage Tours
As the cold winter departs and spring weather arrives, we invite you to join us for a 2 1/2 hour tour to “walk in the footsteps of Dorothy Day”. The Dorothy Day Pilgrimage Tours begin at Union Square, the distribution site of the first Catholic Worker newspaper in 1933. We travel through Greenwich Village and conclude at Maryhouse in the Lower East Side, where Dorothy lived, worked and died. We will visit the sites where Dorothy and the Catholic Workers fed the hungry, sheltered the homeless, spoke out for the needs of the poor and the marginalized, and advocated for peace and non-violence. Throughout the tour we will discuss Dorothy’s life and faith, including her journey towards saintly canonization. The walking tours are educational, interactive, and prayerful. There is no charge for the tours.
