Dear Catholic Worker community,

You are invited to the annual meeting of the Pacific Life Community to be held at Pilgrim Firs retreat center in Washington, near the Ground Zero Center for Nonviolent Action and the Kitsap-Bangor Naval base, home to 8 Trident Submarines. Please consider joining West-Coast Catholic Workers and other spiritually-grounded peace-makers at our retreat and action. Our annual retreat remembers the Castle Bravo test on the Marshall Islands on March 1, 1054.

Check-in will begin at 4 p.m. on March 2 at Pilgrim Firs retreat center and our first scheduled activity is dinner at 6 p.m. We plan to finish at Ground Zero at 1 p.m. on March 5. 

Please secure your spot by registering by January 31, and sending in your deposit. The cost is $300/person. If you are not able to afford the cost, please pay what you can. You can pay online here, or make a check out to Dandelion House and mail it to 13319 SE Linden Ln, Portland, OR 97222. If you pay online, there is a $9 credit card processing fee. The platform also defaults to a 15% “tip” for the platform. You can change that to 0% by clicking where it says “15%,” choosing “Other,” then typing in “0.” (see screenshot at bottom of email).

Our keynote speaker this year is Kathy Kelly, and she will be speaking on the topic “Who Are The Terrorists?”

Other confirmed speakers include Sean Arent from Washington Physicians for Social Responsibility and Robin Narruhn a nurse and researcher from the Marshall Islands. Irthlingz Duo will provide music.
