Hi: Some of you had mentioned interest in the Stanford Drama Department production of “Curse of the Starving Class” written by Sam Shepard. Its an all American Classic staged and in the very intimate Pigott theater. I like watching Summer theater because they usually put up productions in an incredibly short time .... and the sets are pretty good – all done by students …. The actors are not all students – mixture of faculty and students… and some outsiders
For the first time there are no Staff Discounts – So it’s a straight $25 unless you are a senior or youth. I am planning to see it on one of the Thursdays. Probably tomorrow. It runs through August 12. Let me know if there is some interest in this. Then maybe we can by tickets on the same day.
Cheers

Hello DISF Friends. You all acted in a play with Naatak which today runs like a well oiled machine. Come see a play with a 1+ yr old theater group - IndieStage where there is no machine much less oiled. The director is single handedly calling lights, sounds, the show and yes even filling in for the cast many of who are brand new to acting who may not show up at rehearsals. Minimalist production is perhaps a good way to put it. Having said that the script is hilarious and relevant.
In short despite some obvious flaws it may be an enjoyable play. Come and see this family drama... just come - yes - this will give you an opportunity to critique. :-)
