I am gutted I can’t make this (I have to teach a block course this weekend) – is there any chance it will be videoed/recorded?

I asked Max Wallace about making the presentations available in
document form. He is keen on doing this (and for the Aussie conference
too) but I guess it will be a matter of getting documents out or
presenters.

Seeing the Rationalists have been keen on videoing debates and
lectures in Auckland perhaps they could do the same for the Wellington
conference?

I understand that there are plans to record the conference. More
later.

I didn't think I would make this conference, but have now booked
flights. Looking forward to catching up with any other Brights who
attend.

Cheers,

Thoughts on the conference?

I thought the speakers were of a very high standard, especially Lloyd Geering and Nicky Hagar.  Ian Middleton was a bit wide of the mark, but the others were very good.  It was also great to meet a number of NZ Brights and chat over a Guinness and then dinner.  Well worth the trip to Wellington.

I enjoyed the young republican fellow, I thought he made a good case and delivered it well.  Bill Hastings was charismatic and entertaining.  Lloyd Geering warmed my heart.

The podcasts are on their way to going online, i'll post a link asap.

I agree, it was a good day and the speakers almost all of high quality.  No one has mentioned Max Wallace and Bill Cook, so I'll add them to the list of talks I enjoyed.  It was also great to have a drink with other Brights and dinner too with some of the speakers.  I went looking forward to the intellectual discussions I knew would be had and wasn't disappointed.  The only thing that would have made it better is more people, but they say we did better than in Sydney, so I guess that's good.

Cheers,
Ken
