to New Zealand, South Island, UAV Fliers
Hi to everyone that is reading this, I'm posting here in the hope of
attaining some help and input to a project I'm about to start, My name
is Shane and i live in Christchurch , I have been flying modes for
some 25years, building and modeling from gliders threw to pylon races.
I have been toying with the idea of constructing a UAV, I have abit of
a electronic back ground and am wanting to sort of try some thing
different. So any input or discussion on the project will be welcome
and helpful.
Right will open with the plan .........I have a flying wing
constructed from EPP approximately 3.5m in wing span, with a new
aerofoil and fuselage section designed and cut by the support of
Canterbury sailplanes. There will be some discussion on there website
aswel as there facebook page so watch this space. Some photo's will
follow in a few days, Part of the system is comprised of the Aurora 9
2.4ghz Transmitter and telemetry package. As far as I know there are
very little of these in exsistance, Hitec say there new radio is
setting a new bench mark in radio control so we will see this project
is certainly going to be putting it threw its paces. Coupled with a
autopilot and some design build electronics it sure will be exciting,
the scope of maybe competing in next years outback challenge in
Australia, hey all kiwi's know a chance to go one up on the Aussies is
not a bad thing.
So feel free to leave messages and questions or even advice Ill read
it all, I think its going to be a sort of team effort I think.
