There were still many Painted Ladies flying yesterday at Three Rivers WMA in Onondaga County. At Montezuma along the Wildlife Drive 2 Bronze Coppers were feeding on the only Goldenrod left in bloom anywhere in sight.
I do have one question for the group. While at three Rivers we saw a large yellow/sulphur type butterfly, easily half again of more larger than the regular sulphurs and cabbages. I only saw the underwing and it did have a band spot. Is it possible this was a Cloudless Sulppur. It seems not to come this far north according to my books.
