to NYSSC Lobbying Committee
ah SO sorry ive been MIA and havent posted sooner. sorry about the
lack of communication and any confusion regarding the last call. so
yeah there were only three of us. with the proposed lobby day less
than a month away, we realized there was just way too much that had to
be done and we wouldn't want to come off as unorganized and weak. so
between the three of us we came to a consensus about cancelling/
delaying the february lobby day. but of course this needs to be
discussed with the entire group, not just the lobbying committe and
certainly more than just the 3 of us. one of our biggest concerns was
the overall organization/communication/unity of NYSSC. it seems as if
the lobbying committee is the only one progressing and keeping in
contact besides the SC. none of us has heard much of anything from
regional coordinators nor seen much updating on more schools joining.
we really want to move forward and present ourselves as united and
strong or else we're never going to see 80 by 50, so here's what we
accomplished over the call:

-the three of us divided up the NY regions to contact and see if we
could get anywhere with getting other students/schools involved.
-we still want to be setting up meetings with local politicians, but
we need contacts at more schools throughout the state
-robert and i are going to be keeping in contact with marcellino and
sweeney (chairs of the enviro committees in assembly and senate) so we
can stay updated on A.7365 and 7366.
-next call sometime this week hopefully with more people so we can
discuss more than we were able to last time(thanks for setting it up,
fil)

that's pretty much all. unfortunately i won't be able to make the
call tonight, but i'll keep you guys posted on anything from sweeney.
