Hey guys,
Happy New Year! I don't know why, but I can't post the agenda as an
attachment so here it is:

AGENDA 4

Progress from last meeting:
* Stephanie will prepare generic letter to community groups, school
presidents, local politicians by January 15th
* Fil will prepare letter to unions by January 15th
* Courtney will get in touch with fishing and farmer groups
* Fil will e-mail Carlos, PR committee, and Kat to make sure that this
is going well
* Robert is getting list of Assembly people in environmental committee
and reps from where we have schools involved by next Friday the 28th
* Stephanie will do the same for the senate by the 31st
* We will start scheduling appointments as soon as this is done
* Everyone will read A8940 by the 31st
* Fil will contact EANY to ask about this bill by the 31st
* Fil will set up next call for Monday January 7th 9:00
* Erin will set up agenda for call
* Time to start scheduling meetings? Start with environmental
committee people and reps from districts where we're sure schools will
be coming.
* Looking into bills. Is A7494 (precautionary language) worth
supporting? NO! What about CFL bill, solar subsidies bill? NO! SC
thinks we need one or two bills to support (two if they complement
each other nicely)

1. Who wants to take notes?
2. Status of letters (Fil and Stephanie) and fishing/farming groups
(Courtney)?
3. Status of PR and Outreach committees? Need to start setting up
meetings with local politicians ASAP. Do we have schools for each
assemblyman/senator on the environmental committees? If not, any
schools nearby?
4. Discuss what Jackson from EANY had to say
* Which bill do we want to support? Are A.7365 and A.7366 (Super Bill)
our best bet? What's the likelihood that they pass/ what do we need to
do to ensure they pass?
* Continue contact with Sweeney and others about status of
environmental bills and what we can be doing. 80 by 50!
5. Time to write lobby script/ ask structure? What SC had in mind for
our asks (do we agree):
* Public statement of support for what is scientifically necessary
(not asking to endorse particular bill)
* Support for the one or two bills we decide to talk about.
Stephanie will write rough draft of script by Jan. 15th
6. Feb. 12th is getting very close
* Actual planning for lobby day. Press conference status? What do we
need to do?
* Albany schools?
* Next SC call? Where are the other groups in preparation for the big
day?
