CNYIRA important update

To the CNYIRA membership:

 

Unfortunately the club has not been able to secure a liability insurance policy that we can afford.

So the club Board of Directors has decided to cancel the 2018 ice racing season.

We will certainly try again next season.  I will not discuss any details about the insurance process on this forum.  If you have any questions, you can contact me directly at etu...@automationcorrect.com.

This is of course a big disappointment given the promising weather of late.

 

That said, I would like to express thanks to and support for the Board of Directors for the work they put into sustaining ice racing in our area. It ain’t easy, so let’s not make it thankless work.

Yeah agreed. I was to on race about 3-4 years ago and it was a great event. Also, would a generous loan help the situation?

We should all discuss this insurance issue more for next year. I could assist with a "grant" ... Maybe Tom Tremper as well and a few others ... we could help offset the insurance costs. Lets start looking for 2019 season and get a plan together.

One option that was not discussed is sponsorship, either by
individuals or businesses.
