Hello Iceracers,
I am sorry to inform you that we are cancelling the races planned for next weekend on Chazy and declaring the season over.
Several factors were conspiring against racing next weekend on Chazy. We took a poll at the drivers meeting yesterday and many racers weren’t going to be able to come. There is a storm forecast for Sunday which could drop a foot of snow and make the trip home after the races a nightmare. Several of our workers aren’t able to come, which would make things more challenging. Overall it looked best to cancel.
Nevertheless, we are planning to race on Chazy Lake next year, January 28 and 29, 2023.
If you’ve looked at the forecast, you know why we are declaring the season over. We are going to get heavy rains tomorrow followed by warm temperatures. The lakes won’t be usable next weekend.
I think we had a great season, albeit a little shorter than I would have liked!
This year’s banquet will be on Saturday April 2nd, at Pinhead Susan’s located at 38 Broadway in Schenectady. The banquet will start at 6PM with open bar (draft beer, wine, and soda) between 6 and 7PM. We’ll start out with Boneless Wings as an appetizer. Dinner will be buffet style with Salad and Chicken Marsala with Penne and Marinara. Racers can come for free and guests are only $20 each! RSVP to me by Thursday March 24.
We will have the results from yesterday posted soon. You have until next Sunday, 3/13, to make any corrections. I know we caught a couple errors yesterday that screwed up the gridding, but I think we have the results and points sorted out now. Email me directly if you believe corrections need to be made to the results or points.
