Good evening winter enthusiasts,

We've been conducting weekly ice checks and the outlook is promising!
Although our initial plan was to host the race on Lake George this weekend, the ice coverage isn't sufficient. After assessing alternative lakes in the area, Lake Luzerne has emerged as a strong contender.

We'll conduct another ice check on Thursday to confirm it’s ok or not, and if conditions remain favorable, we'll kick-start preparations on Friday for an exciting two-day event over the weekend.
If you haven't reviewed our previous emails, please note that preregistration is mandatory through the MSR link provided below (registration for both are scheduled to open at 5pm Thursday after the ice report, in case we have to cancel). We also invite volunteers to contribute to various aspects of the event. If you're interested in volunteering, please let us know, as your support would be invaluable. Specifically, we need assistance with plowing, corner working, scoring, and flagging.
please check for update on ice conditions tomorrow as this will determine if or where we are racing!

**Also, if you need a hotel and plan to stay in the area, please let us know ASAP so we can pass that along to the Carnival organizers to try and block off rooms for racers or volunteers.**

We have a lot of factors working against us, so bare with us and be ready for very late notice changes or cancellations.
First: we need the ice to build a bit more
Second: we need to plow out the track and pits
Third: we have a snow storm coming Thursday and another big storm coming in on Saturday night. So we could potentially race Saturday and not be able to race Sunday due to the extra snow plow time or the snow banks sinking into the ice overnight.
Fourth: we are short on some key volunteers (IE our chief scorer), so could end up racing as a non points event.
