1-23-25 Ice report
 Lake Algonquin has 12" of ice out on the main lake but the top two or three inches are white ice, so we are not ready to race yet but it's getting there very slowly. There is some hard packed snow on top of the ice. Maybe next week if it stays cold. My friend Sal came along this time and took some drone photos along with my ice measurement photos.
On Pecks Lake that is up to 8" of good ice but the weight of the snow on the lake has cracked the ice and water is coming up on top of the ice so there is a lot of slush. Slush is something we cannot deal with. It needs to melt enough to re-freeze at some point.
Reports from the Lake George winter Carnival are that the big lake has finally froze over and it is right on schedule. It never really freezes until the third week of January. So, there is hope if it stays cold, we will be racing there in town like we did in the good old days.


We will be having an unscheduled meeting Monday at 7:30pm on zoom. 

We will be discussing the upcoming ice racing season, refreshing everyone on race procedures, worker information, and everything needed to make an event run smoothly. It's been a couple years since we raced, so this will be a good refresher for everyone and we encourage all to attend.
