Hi Everyone, this is Dave Burnham Adirondack Motor Enthusiast Club (AMEC) past president and club historian.
This e mail is to inform you of a special Racers Reunion banquet that AMEC is putting on which is open to all past AMEC members, racers, workers etc. It will be held on January 3rd 2026. We want anyone that was ever a part of AMEC to attend NO CHARGE!!!!
In 2026 AMEC will be 72 years old and we are winding down our activities. Between climate change hampering our ability to ice race and a general lack of members willing to put on other events we have decided to wind down the club. Fortunately we have some money in the bank and we thought that a nice way to use it would be to gather all past and present AMEC members together for a party.
We may do this more than once but the first one is scheduled for January 3rd 2026. We are still locking in the venue but it will be somewhere between Saratoga Springs and Albany NY.
This has been advertised on our Face book page, the AMEC web site, and by word of mouth. If you are getting this e mail then you are in our e mail address book.
38 people have signed up so far. Another few are thinking about it and and a few more have just contacted me because they have heard about it.
If you have already signed up there is no need to reply to this e mail. You are listed at the bottom of this email.
If you are in contact with other past AMEC members and friends please spread the word.
Please sign up soon (like right now) this is mostly for planning purposes. We may limit the number to 100 people not because we can't afford it but because of the venue size we are looking at. If I can get well over 100 people to sign up soon we will find a bigger place but that needs to be done very soon.
So if you think this sounds like fun please send me an e mail right away. Tell me about what years you participated in AMEC and what you did (raced, worked, was a member etc.). Email me at raci...@nycap.rr.com
If you get multiple e mails with this same info I am sorry about that, our main goal is to get the word out as far and as fast as we can. Again please spread the word to any other AMEC members you are in contact with. If we get a ton of people that will just be more fun. But if it looks like it will be 100 or less we will lock in the venue soon and limit it to 100. Please don't wait to sign up.
