Data Deluge: IBM: 90%of world's data created in last 2 years alone

This is madness! (Granted, it's a press release, but still they claim
it's from the "News room".) Depending on qualitative or quantitative
measures, I refuse to believe that "90 percent of the world's data
[was] created in the last two years along." But these are the numbers
that people (e.g . IT Heads) use to argue for increased funds.... But
with 100,000 years of human history (roughly), i refuse to believe
that everything created in the last two years needs to be preserved
for as long as the Constitution or various other assets, (writings by
Shakespeare), documents, records and etc.

"Everyday consumers are creating 2.5 quintillion bytes of data with 90
percent of the world's data created in the last two years alone.
Savvy marketers are gaining insight from social media and
incorporating it into their strategies. The key is predicting what
consumers will want and then adapting marketing strategies to give
them the right product when, where, and at what price they want it.
