Notes from the September 2016 Northern Virginia FM Association Meeting
September 15, 2016
Fairfax, VA

Meeting called to order at 1930 by Vice President Bruce Freund K7BC

Bruce called for old or new business:

Shawn Stokes KA3RQR gave an update on the status of the 79 site with a timeline of around 9-12 months before the site could go off the air at the Massey Building. Work has been done to see if the 220 Machine can goto the Tyson’s site and it was found that it could. Several options exist for placement of the 79 machine, none of the them are great but work is continuing to find a site on County property that will be equal coverage. A discussion took place about possibly looking at Fairfax Hospital and it was agreed to follow up on that idea.

Bruce gave an overview and status of the current repeater equipment and plans for the transition off the Massey Building including the new Yaesu repeaters the NVFMA has.

Howard Cunningham WD5DBC reported that there was $228 in the treasury after paying the current Cox bill for DStar.

Howard and Bruce gave a briefing on the upcoming Marine Corps Marathon.

Meeting was closed at 2101 by Bruce.
