Hello all. This is a reminder that the next SWaG meeting is Tuesday,
4/28, in the Wildcat Room B room (Norris) at 3:30. If you have agenda
items for the meeting, please send them to me by the end of the day on
Monday, 4/27. If you are unable to attend this meeting, please let me
know. And, if there are any contact updates for SWaG distribution,
please notify me as well.

Sustainable Urban Design and Development Lecture Series May 5-7
The Northwestern Institute for Sustainable Practices (NiSP) presents
this series of lectures with Doug Farr, architect. All will take
place in Pancoe Auditorium. You can find more information here:

May 5, 5-6.30 - Trends and Trajectories in Sustainability
This session will present the cutting edge of how sustainability is
being applied to buildings, developments and cities. This will include
the strategic plans for the LEED rating system, LEED-ND, One Planet
Communities, and the Star Communities Index.
May 6, 4-5.30 - The Business Case for Sustainability
Sustainable products, buildings and communities are now widely
perceived to be value added. This session will review the known data
on ROI and talk about the role of investment risk in time and capital
plays out in key sustainable case studies.
May 7, 4-5.30 - Role of the Professional: The Obsolescence of Current
Training
The nation's universities are turning out professionals trained to
individually solve problems from the 20th and sometimes the 19th
century while the current trend is toward Interdisciplinary solutions.
This session will use knowledge gained from the past while adding
cutting-edge practices from the present to teach the professionals of
the future.

The Argonne-Northwestern Solar Energy Research Center (ANSER) hosts

Norris, Lake Room, 1:00 – 4:30. Details sent in separate e-mail.
