NEW Program for Fall 2009! THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT - Open to Post-Bacs
as well as Undergrads!
The Marine Environment - Spend the 2009 fall quarter on a beautiful
island in the Pacific Northwest at the Friday Harbor Marine Labs (FHL)
gaining field experience in environmental issues such as why killer
whales and salmon are disappearing, or the impact of global warming.
Fulfills electives in EPC, Biology, Sociology and other programs, and
as research for senior thesis. No science prerequisites. FHL is a
world-renowned marine science research facility on 484-acre biological
preserve, San Juan Island, Washington (75 miles northwest of
Seattle). Course offerings (choose any three) include: a) Social
Change and the Marine Environment, b) Research Apprenticeship in the
Marine Environment, c) Scientific Diving, or; d) Marine Biology.
Directed reading in the Marine Environment also possible. For further
