Hi,

At our orientation, Rachel gave you one of the very first blue water drops, humble pieces of felt which are now poised to become a powerful symbol of the growing movement to defend our waters from tarsands pipelines and tankers.  If we pool our creativity and energy we can make this huge.  Can you join us for a potluck tomorrow (Wed) evening at my place to craft a plan to unleash a monsoon of blue drops?

Deets: 6:30PM chez Jolan (849 E 13the Ave). accessibility info below
Bring: Something for the potluck, your ideas, interested friends or colleagues

In less than two weeks the blue drops have gained impressive momentum.  At the Defend Our Coast action in Victoria, we gave out we ran out of drops and Rabble's coverage of the protest featured a picture of a blue drop and asked "is the blue drop the new red square?"  Organizers at a Council of Canadians event helped get speakers including Bill McKibben and Maude Barlow to wear drops during the event, distribute drops to the audience of almost 400, and tweeted the #bluedrop hashtag to more than 7382 twitter followers.

Clearly, these simple felt drops are resonating with people.  Think how powerful it would be if it really caught on; imagine if your bus driver, the person behind you in line and your mom were all wearing blue drops.  It would inspire supporters, showcase the diversity of movement and scare the socks off political decision-makers.

It's possible if we pool our creativity.  Help make it happen.  See you tomorrow!

Cheers,
Jolan

p.s. if you can't make it tomorrow but want to get involved, email me or Rachel and we'll enthusiastically plug you in moving forward.
