Hello DVAC friends!

I wanted to personally extend an invitation to The Family Place's first session of our free professional learning series, The Resilient Table.

Our inaugural session, “We Are Never Getting Back Together—And That's Okay,” will explore how trusted adults can support youth navigating the end of a relationship — whether that relationship was healthy, unhealthy, or abusive. This interactive workshop will equip you with practical tools to help youth break up safely, talk about healthy relationships and recognize warning signs of unhealthy or abusive behavior.

Session Details:
Date: March 26, 2025
Time: 12-1 p.m.
Location: The session will be held at our safe campus in the Medical District. The exact location will be shared once we have your RSVP.
Presenter: Vanessa Baum, MPH, Director of Prevention Education, The Family Place
Register here.

What You’ll Learn:
  • How to describe healthy and unhealthy relationship qualities to youth
  • Ways to help teens break up safely — even when risk is involved
  • Practical tools and conversation strategies to support youth through relationship challenges

This session is ideal for educators, counselors, mentors, youth-serving professionals and community leaders who want to strengthen the support they offer to young people. Please feel free to share this event with coworkers and community partners!

Note: This session takes place over the lunch hour, and while lunch won’t be provided, you’re welcome to bring something to enjoy while we learn together!

We hope to see you there!
