Good morning!!! Happy Friday. Happy #TDVAM! How are we all doing???? Raise your hand if you were at TCFV/TAASA Capitol Day on 2/20/25??? Me me me!!! I have done this type of work for nearly two decades (two decades vs 20 years...which sounds shorter? I went with two decades), and this year was my first ever Capitol Day. What a fun time. So many advocates, so much energy...it was pretty delightful. It was cold. And not Texas cold....like the real world cold. But it did not steal away the energy.

There are many great bills being put forth by both TCFV and TAASA, all of which have support from our Texas representatives! I have attached them to this email for you all to see 🙂

A few things have come through the listserv for TDVAM events. Here is one more!!! HDNBC is hosting our first Youth Advisory Council Film Festival, THIS Saturday, 2/22/25 at 5pm in downtown Garland. We had hundreds of film submissions and will be showing the finalists' films at the event. This is a FREE event, open to the public. Come on down and then check out the local fare in Garland. Flyer is below. If you have any more events for this month to share, please send them along!

We will have our monthly meeting next Thursday, 2/27/25 at 9:30AM. Lots going on in the world, so let's gather for community and support! In person or via Zoom.
