Good afternoon, friends!

Sharing an update from Texas Council on Family Violence (TCFV).  They have been in contact with DV agencies in the areas who have experienced flooding.  Let's send all the vibes!!!  If you know of any program who needs assistance, please share with the rest of the group.  It takes a village, and in this case....Texas is a village 🙂

Subject: July 5 and 11 weekend Flood Updates

Good morning,
Hope this email finds you well.  We have had some terrible weather and horrific tragic outcomes these last two weekends.  Some areas are very much still in recovery and survival mode. Several staff have called/emailed to see how the Texas DV agencies were affected by the floods during July 5 and July 11 weekend and were reaching out to help and support.  For now it looks like the Texas dv facilities are intact and services are operating normally.

Here is an update

Brady The Haven Family Shelter
floors flooded over the weekend- they removed all flooring. No clients, volunteers or staff sustained injuries. They continued offering services. The floor and walls are concrete, so it dries quickly. They are able to take in individuals or families needing shelter; services operating normally.

San Sabe The Dove Project
The shelter is on high elevation and did not sustain damage. Services are operating normally. The downtown and the parks etc. were severely flooded. Partial entry to San Saba is cut off but there is a back way for staff to bring any individuals/families needing services or shelter. They are providing cleaning supplies and other supplies for individuals that must clean up mud from their homes. The community is working together.

Marble Falls Highland lakes Family Crisis Center
No flooding to any facilities, all services operating normally.

Kerrville - BCFS Health and Human Services- ( note this is not the Del Rio facility)
They cannot assess the damage as they are still in recovery mode. Services operating.

Kerrville Hill Country Crisis Council
Staff report shelter did not sustain any damage during the July 5 nor July 11-13 floods, clients staff volunteers safe. One staff person's home was flooded. All services are operating normally.

New Braunfels, Criss Center of Comal County
For the July 5 floods, for safety they sheltered in place and had coordinated with local Fire department; did not sustain damage, services remained operating. For July11-13 floods, no damage, services are operating normally.

Seguin Thriving Hearts Crisis Center
No damage from July 5 floods, nor July 11-13 floods; services are operating normally.

San Angelo, Family Shelter
No damage to facilities during the July 11-13 floods; services are operating normally.

If you have any updates, or I need to correct information please let me know.

Let's hope we get some sun to dry up these areas. Maria Jose
