Hi everyone,
Sorry that it took a week for this update, but I wanted to let you all know that 9 of us found 9 Morels last Sunday on our second Morel Hunt to Catawba. I think we were just a little early to those spots, but at least it wasn't a bust and we had a lot of fun! In the pictures, you can see a lovely flower (new to me) called Wild Oats, a Spicebush Swallowtail (someone correct me if I'm wrong about the butterfly), Anton with a feather in his hat, Alex and Chris pointing out a Morel with a walking stick, and the biggest individual haul for the day from Tony--lovely Morchella esculentoides.
If it doesn't rain all day on my day off tomorrow, maybe I will have a chance to do more hunting.
Wednesday I went to three spots on the Parkway with no luck, but it sounds like some of you have been having a fine season!
Maybe I'll see some of you at the Rally,
Becky Rader
