Sorry, I missed the part about poison ivy. Interestingly, we’ve had discussions before about Laetiporus as well as other Mushrooms. The answer is NO. Any part of the mushroom that has made contact with or grown through the poison ivy should be avoided. Toxicodendron’s irritant, uruishiol, is oil based, thus cooking doesn’t eliminate it, but rather spreads out and could vaporize. Any part of the mushroom that you are confident wasn’t in contact is probably fine, but as always, when in doubt, throw it out!
