Can anyone explain the differences between the LCSW and LCSW-C?  Can one actually perform private practice as an LCSW and bill to 3rd party insurances?
I am under the presumption that only the LCSW-C provides these authorities/privileges.

Any clarification is much appreciated.

It probably depends on what state you're in. In Florida as a LCSW YOU can be in private practice and bill third party insurance companies.
