Attempted Purse Snatching, S Rampart & Union

On Thursday, August 12, 2010, at 8:10am, the victim, 56 y/o W/F, was
walking near S Rampart & Union when she was approached by an unknown
black male. The suspect grabbed the victim’s purse and attempted to
pull it from her grasp. The victim resisted and managed to maintain
control of her purse. The suspect then fled into a white Jeep
Cherokee which fled on S Rampart toward Poydras, then unknown.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5’07”, 160lbs, thin build,
wearing white polo shirt and khaki pants.
