6th District Person's Crimes Recap - Week of 8/1/10 - 8/7/10

The below listed persons crimes will be discussed at the 6th District
COMSTAT meeting this Thursday, at 2pm:

SHOOTING – 3900 Washington Ave – 8/7/10
On 8/7/10, at approx 827pm, members of the Sixth District responded to
a shooting in the 3900 block of Washington Avenue. Arriving officers
learned the victim was transported to University Hospital. Upon
relocating to the hospital, the victim told officers he was sitting in
the front passenger seat of his girlfriends vehicle. As she was
backing out, a unknown black male approached the passenger side of the
vehicle and began firing at the victim. The victim sustained 2
gunshot wounds and is listed in stable condition. The victim was
unable to provide a description of the perpetrator.

ASSAULT – Interstate 10 West at Claiborne – 8/3/10
On 8/3/10, at approx 245pm, the victim stated she was driving her
truck on the i-10 high-rise when she was almost struck by a 2 door
silver Nissan Titan truck. The victim was able to avoid the collision,
but road rage ensued by the driver of the Nissan Titan. The driver of
the Titan followed the victim and as they approached Orleans Ave Exit,
he made a gesture at her with his hand to mimic a handgun. The victim
continued driving, and as she approached S. Claiborne, the driver of
the Titan pulled up beside her and pointed a black and silver handgun
at her. The victim exited the interstate and went home, where she
notified police. The perp was described as a black male, bald head,
in his 30’s, clean shaven, light complexion, and wearing a khaki
shirt.

ARMED ROBBERY – St. Andrew and St. Charles – 8/4/10
On 8/4/01, at approx 850pm, the victims parked their vehicle in the
1600 block of St Andrew Street and were walking towards the Cheesecake
Bistro when they were approached from behind by a unknown black male,
who asked them if they had any change. The victims said no, and
continued walking. Both victims heard footsteps behind them, turned
around, and saw the same subject raising his t-shirt, which revealed a
revolver he had concealed. The suspect stated “Give me what you
got” . The victims turned over their jewelry and wallets to the
suspect, who then fled on foot. The suspect is described as a black
male, early 30's, 6 feet tall, medium complexion, unshaven, medium
build, wearing a blue and red baseball cap, blue tshirt, and dark
colored jeans.
