Below are the persons crimes that occurred in the Sixth District for
the Comstat Week (7/11/10 - 7/17/10). These crimes, as well as all
property crimes that occurred last week will be discussed in Comstat
tomorrow at 2pm at the Sixth District Station.
AGGRAVATED BATTERY BY SHOOTING - 7/12/10 – 1600 S. White Street
CASE STATUS: CLEARED BY WARRANT
On Monday, July 12, 2010 at 6:13pm, members of the Sixth District
responded to a shooting in the 1600 block of S. White Street. Upon
arrival, officers learned the victim was transported to University
Hospital by private conveyance. Upon relocating to the hospital,
Detectives learned the victim sustained a single gunshot wound, and is
currently listed in critical condition. Through their investigations,
Sixth District Detectives learned the subject responsible for the
shooting is Damon Lewis, black male, date of birth 7/29/86. A warrant
was issued for the arrest of Lewis.

AGGRAVATED BATTERY BY SHOOTING – 7/15/10 – 2300 Laurel St
CASE STATUS: OPEN/CURRENTLY UNDER INVESTIGATION
On Thursday, July 15, 2010 at 1101pm, members of the Sixth District
responded to a shooting in the 2300 block of Laurel Street. Arriving
officers learned the victim, and 2 other subjects, were sitting on
their front porch when they observed a red, four door vehicle, driving
down Laurel St very slowly. The occupants of the vehicle began
shooting at the house where the victim was sitting, striking the
victim one time. The victim was listed in stable condition. The
victim or witnesses had no description of the perpetrators.
ARMED ROBBERY – 7/16/10 – 4700 Euphrosine
CASE STATUS: CLEARED BY ARREST
On Friday, July 16, 2010, at approx 12am, an armed robbery with a
firearm occurred in the 4700 block of Euphrosine.
The victim stated he was sitting on his front porch when the victim
approached him, brandished a firearm, and demanded the victim turn
over his money. After the victim gave the perpetrator the money from
the wallet, the perpetrator ordered the victim inside and demanded his
car keys and his Playstation 3 game console. The victim told the
perpetrator he did not have the keys to the car, however, he gave him
the Playstation. The perpetrator then fled the residence on foot.
The victim noted the perpetrator was seen at the residence next door
to his house on the previous day.
Sixth District Detectives went to the house where the perpetrator was
seen out. Through their investigation, they developed Tyelga Dixon,
black male, 6/9/88, as the perpetrator. A warrant was issued for his
arrest, and he was picked up on said warrant 7/19/2010.
SIMPLE ROBBERY – 7/13/10 – Coliseum and Polymnia
CASE STATUS: CLEARED BY ARREST
On July 13, 2010, at 1245am, members of the Sixth District responded
to a simple robbery at the location of Coliseum and Polymnia St.
The victim stated he was playing video poker at the Avenue Pub, 1732
St. Charles Ave, At which time three unknown females approached him,
one of which
patted his pockets for money. The victim asked the female to stop
and
leave him alone. The victim, feeling uncomfortable, reported the
incident to the staff and left the bar on his bicycle. As the victim
reached the intersection of Coliseum at Polymnia St, he was
approached
by the same group of females who were all riding in a white Cadillac
Escalade. The females jumped out the vehicle and attacked the
victim.
During the altercation, one of the females reached into the victims
pocket and removed $170 cash. The females retreated back into their
vehicle and fled the scene. The victim was able to get the license
plate of the Escalade, and notified police.
Investigating detectives asked NOPD dispatchers to broadcast the
vehicle description and license plate of the Escalade to all police
districts. Officers in the Eighth District observed the vehicle in
the 500 block of Decatur and executed a traffic stop on the vehicle.
The victim identified the occupants as the subjects who committed
this
robbery.

Tatanisha Degruy, Black Female, date of birth 11/2/72
Candice Bowie, Black Female, date of birth 12/8/87
