On 10/08 at 1540, victim left his vehicle parked at the location with
keys in the ignition, at which time he observed an unknown black male
enter the vehicle in an attempt to take it. At this time, the victim
ran outside and dove in the driver's window and began choking the
subject, at which time the subject pulled out a handgun from his
waistband and pointed it at the victim. Victim and subject struggled
over the weapon, at which time the subject lost control of the vehicle
and drove into a fence. Subject then fled the scene on foot. A
responding officer gave chase, however to no avail. At this time the
officer was approached by a woman, who advised she was chasing her
son. Subject was positively identified and an arrest warrant was
secured.
