to NOPD 2nd District Email Blast
New Orleans, LA - Members of the New Orleans Police Department are
requesting the public’s assistance in locating and identifying a
suspect, wanted in connection with a sexual battery that occurred on
July 23, 2010, at approximately 4:00A.M., in the 2600 block of General
Ogden. The subject is also possibly wanted for an additional rape and
simple robbery in the uptown area.
According to investigators, the victim was sitting on her porch when
the subject approached on a silver bicycle and asked for a light.
Shortly after, the subject walked up, grabbed the victim and demanded
money. The victim stated she did not have any at which time the
subject took the victim’s purse, walked her to the rear yard of the
residence and ordered her to lie down on the ground. The subject
implied he had a weapon and forced the victim to perform oral sex.
Subsequently, the victim screamed and ran into the house at which time
the subject fled on his bicycle in a river bound direction on Belfast
Street.
The perpetrator was described as an African-American male,
approximately 20 years of age, approximately 5’6” to 5’7” in height,
approximately 160 pounds, medium build and medium complexion. He was
last seen wearing a red polo style short sleeve shirt, blue jeans and
tennis shoes riding a silver bicycle.
Currently, investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and
information to identify the person involved in this incident. Sex
Crimes Detective Vernon Haynes is in charge of the investigation and

A computer composite sketch of the wanted subject has been e-mailed to
all local media.
