Homicide in the 8900 Block of Birch

On June, 14, 2010 at approximately 6:15 pm the victim was
standing in front of a residence located in the 8900 block of Birch
Street. At that time a white four door Chevrolet Malibu drove by and
fired several rounds at the victim mortally wounding her. A second
victim sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. Detectives were able to
identify two suspects believed to be responsible. Subsequently
Detectives arrested Ryan Carroll, black male, 3-29-85 and Carey Jones,
black male 9-28-89, who was charged with this offense. This case is
still currently under investigation by the NOPD Homicide
Unit.
