[NNHS Enviro Club]

Hello Everyone!

While the club is still working to get the recycling program fixed at North, we have two big events coming up that we need you help planning and preparing for! The first of which is Earth Day which we are now in the planning stage of. For Earth Day, we will have a series of environmental presentations and tables on Main Street like there were at EnviroJam. We need you to develop ideas for Earth Day and to come to our next meeting to share what you would like to see for the event. So far we've talked about what topics we would like to have presentations on, a bake sale, etc.

We'll also soon have to discuss our plans for the Newton Environmental Fair. This will be a public event where we can have some speakers, some bands, maybe some performances, and booths for environmental organizations. We're going to need to get help from the city and originally this was going to be a joint effort between the NNHS and NSHS Environmental Clubs but it might be better to also get help from an organization like the Green Decade Coalition of Newton and their Student for a Greener World (which meets tomorrow, Tuesday, at 5:30 at the Newton Free Library in meeting room A).
