All,

September’s total of 27 recovered human remains in the Tucson Sector is the highest total for September since at least 2007 (with the exception of 2020).

 

The crisis continues and will not be solved by additional wall construction or border enforcement.

The number of migrant deaths reported by the Pima County Office of the Medical Examiner in September 2023 was 27.

 

Recently found individuals grouped by PMI (Post Mortem Interval):

   6 dead less than a day

   5 dead less than 1 week

   2 dead less than 3 weeks

   3 dead less than 5 weeks

   4 dead less than 3 months

   1 dead less than 6-8 months

   6 dead more than 6-8 months

Total:   27


Updates for previous cases:

        7 individuals newly identified by name (1,562 cases remain unidentified)
