First session of the NM singing group for 2012

Hi all,

Happy new year!

 

When would you like to kick off the singing group for the year?

We’ll have to move it back to either Monday or Wednesday nights, as Tuesday clashes with the dancing group, and there are people who are interested in both.  I plan to run it fortnightly still.  I assume Wednesday still won’t work for you this year, Hazel?

I will be away at Canterbury Faire the 30^th and the 6^th, so I suggest we start again officially on the 13^th February.  However I’m happy for people to come over on the 23^rd for drinks and a bit of a sing, (and if the bread oven from the faire is ready by then we could even have a go at burning things in there).  ;)   If you have anything you’ve come across that you would like to learn, bring it along and we can have a go, or I can take it away to learn up for the next session.

 

Our first outing for the year will be the Tavern Revel in late February (the 18^th or the 25^th).  We’re hoping to use the Free House Yurt, but I’m still trying to find out prices so we may have to go elsewhere.  Following that is the Marchfest at Founders Park on the 24^th.  We will be running an archery stall and a small display again this year.  Have a think and let me know whether you’d like to sing at this.  Markus is keen to have volunteers to help spread the load a bit this year – so let us know if you’d be keen to help out for a shift.

Yep, Wednesdays are still out.

Xan will have a course on 5-6 on Mondays, so Mondays are ok depending on what time were you thinking of having the sessions.

Hi 

Mondays and fortnightly works for me.  I also really like the 7pm start as I stay in town after work and I'm home at a reasonable time.

I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again.  

The Tavern Revels is slated for 25th Feb.
