Social data analytics group of
Advanced Digital Sciences Center (ADSC) seeks junior researchers for
positions in the areas of data mining, machine learning and database with applications to
social media data analytics.
ADSC overview:
- ADSC is an oversea research institute of University of Illinois at Urbana Champange (UIUC) in Singapore.
- It has around 20 UIUC faculty, 40 researchers and 30 engineers.
Project overview:
- The project is generally about social media data analytics. Currently, it focuses on building a platform that supports: 1) effective data retrieval, which aims to gather as much relevant data as possible for a topic of interest, 2) social user profiling, which aims to infer user demographic/non-demographic information from the social media data.

Qualifications:
- A PhD in the areas of data mining, machine learning, database and information management.
- Expertise in text mining, information extraction/retrieval and social network analysis is preferred.
- Prior experience with real system development is a plus.
