Dear all,

LT3 is looking for 2 highly motivated PhD students with strong interest in language/translation technology to work on (1) automated terminology extraction from comparable corpora and (2) the automatic detection of cyber-bullying content in online text, starting September 15th 2015.

The positions require knowledge of Dutch.

1. AMiCA project: automatic detection of cyberbullying content in online content

The first PhD project is part of the IWT SBO-project AMiCA in which several Flemish research institutions are involved. The AMiCA (Automatic Monitoring for Cyberspace Applications) project aims to mine relevant website resources (blogs, chat rooms and social networks), and collect, analyse and integrate large amounts of subjective information using text and image analysis with the ultimate goal of tracing harmful content in an automatic way.

2. SCATE project: automated terminology extraction from comparable corpora

The second PhD project is part of the IWT SBO-project SCATE in which several Flemish research institutions are involved. In the project innovative translation technology components will be developed and integrated in a proof-of-concept system (Smart Computer-Aided Translation Environment).

Details in the attachment or on http://www.lt3.ugent.be/news/

Kind regards,
Mariya
