PhD scholarship on Responsible Processing of Natural Language Data at the University of Groningen (NL)

We are looking for talented students who wish to conduct innovative 
research at the intersection of Computer Security/Privacy and Natural Language Processing, on timely  topics such as automating the identification of privacy breaching text fragments (identity, social security data, gender, etc.). The selected candidate will be supervised by Dr.  Fatih Turkmen (Computer Science), Dr. Arianna Bisazza (Computational Linguistics) and Prof. Dr. Bart Verheij (Artificial Intelligence).

Requirements:

- MSc in Natural Language Processing, Computer Security/Privacy, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, or a related discipline

- experience in natural language processing, privacy enhancing technologies, and/or machine learning

- strong programming skills

- ability to work independently, good communication skills, and a passion for research.

This call gives the selected candidates the opportunity to design their own PhD research project, which will take place at the Faculty of Science and Engineering of the University  of Groningen (RuG) and will have a strong interdisciplinary character.
