The LIST is opening a position in statistical text processing, and its applications in various domains (historical documents, social data).
Textual data is a pervasive source of information on the web, but extracting its meaning and using it in applications remains challenging. Beyond traditional natural language processing (NLP), in recent years new perspectives have been opened by word embedding techniques, which map words to a numerical vector space, and hence allow using a large range of statistical methods for text analysis.
A PhD work is planned on a topic extending the internship. Upon demonstrated performance, the intern will be perfectly positioned as an applicant for the PhD opening.
