Post description:
We are looking for an excellent researcher to join Sheffield's Natural
Language Processing research group (
http://nlp.shef.ac.uk). You will
apply techniques from Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning
to develop an automated career coach that provides personalised advice
on improving digital skills by analysing career goals and recommending
suitable training. You will be part of the Institute of Coding
(
https://instituteofcoding.org/), an exciting new initiative that
brings together a range of universities, industry, training providers
and professional bodies to address the UK's digital skills gaps. You
will collaborate with other Institute of Coding partners that are
working on the automated career coach, including the University of
Exeter and IBM.

Experience:
The successful candidate will hold a degree in Computer Science (or
related subject) and, ideally, a PhD on a relevant topic. Experience
of carrying out research in Natural Language Processing and/or Machine
Learning is essential. Strong coding skills are also
required. Experience of conducting user studies to evaluate software
systems is desirable.
