Artist Newsletter Arts Legal Clinic Our next Arts clinic will take place on Tuesday, December 3rd from 1:00-5:00 PM. Artists who use social media or ecommerce sites to promote or sell their art will be particularly interested in attending this clinic. Members will have 30 minutes to speak with an attorney on privacy, security and technology issues, including contracts. November 6: 501(c)3 Seminar (12:30pm-3:30pm)   December 5: Arts Clinic (1:00p-5:00pm) Wednesday, November 6, 12:30pm-3:30pm  A three to four hour, user-friendly seminar to instruct parties interested in launching nonprofit entities presented by GLA staff. Cost is $120 for GLA members ($10 for additional member guests) $150 for non-members. Georgia Lawyers for the Arts has facilitated this session monthly since 1982. Many local attorneys attend these sessions. The primary purpose of the session is to place participants in a knowledgeable posture on the legal, filing, and reporting requirements for nonprofit organizations as well as establishing best nonprofit organizational practices from inception. Since 9-11, the IRS raised the bar substantially in acquiring tax-exempt status.
