At the April 14th Job Futures Fair panel, a number of books were
mentioned as "good things to read" -- what is your take on these, or
your suggestions to add to the list.
The books fell in a few categories:
1. Basic concepts you should have in your vocabulary
software design patterns and related books are in this category
2. What in the world is going on?
books about the Digital revolution, globalization, etc. --
things that may/will impact your career
3. Job related skills
books on networking (people wise), resumes, interviewing, etc.
But ideally just the good ones
4. Books on specific technology -- but not every possible book --
focus on ones that
really add something, not just titles created because "Java is
hot this week" ....
(ones you would buy a second copy of if your ex-best friend
refused to return the one you loaned him)
